As one of the best IVF clinics in Cyprus, EuroCARE offers the beacon of hope for people struggling with infertility to become parents. Our goal is to understand your reproductive health needs so that we can develop the best individualised treatment plan for you. Our all-inclusive reproductive care is deeply rooted in the understanding of the physical and emotional aspects of every patient’s journey.
EuroCARE IVF offers a variety of fertility treatments, ranging from simple interventions like IUI to more complicated procedures like IVF. Depending on your individual circumstances, you will be recommended the most suitable treatment option for you (and your partner).
Assisted reproductive technology
Assisted reproductive technology refers to the range of treatments in which cutting-edge technology is used to handle both eggs and sperm in order to achieve pregnancy.
IVF
The most popular ART treatment is In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). The procedure works by removing eggs from a woman’s body which are then fertilized with sperm to create embryos. The embryos are then placed back in the female patient’s uterus.
ICSI
ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) is the direct injection of a single sperm into each egg to achieve fertilization. Sperms are selected by an embryologist who evaluates a semen sample under a microscope with 200 times magnification and selects the visually healthiest sperm cells.
As one of the most advanced techniques, ICSI is used in all IVF procedures in the clinic, especially in cases of male factor infertility in order to maximize the chances of a successful and healthy pregnancy.
IMSI
IMSI (Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection) selects visually best sperm so it can be injected into an egg. This is a variation of ICSI, which is used to help couples overcome male factor problems.
The IMSI technique uses a microscope with higher magnification (6,000 times). The reasoning for this is that it allows embryologists to view more detailed images of the sperm which may help them choose the healthiest for fertilisation.
Third-party Donation
ART procedures sometimes use donor eggs, donor sperm, or donor embryos. There are many reasons why third-party reproductive material may be required.
Sperm Donation
IVF with donor sperm is recommended when a male partner does not produce any sperm — or his sperm is abnormal, as well as when there is a high risk of a man passing on a genetic disease to a child. Sperm donation can also be used by single women and women in same-sex relationships.
Egg Donation
IVF treatment with donor eggs may be recommended when a woman doesn’t produce eggs or her eggs are of poor quality, as well as when a woman has experienced several miscarriages, or when there is a high risk of the woman passing on a genetic disease to the child.
Embryo Donation
Donor embryos can be used if a person or couple requires both donor sperm and donor eggs to achieve a pregnancy. The recipient woman takes hormones in preparation for the embryo transfer, and when she is ready, embryos are transferred to the uterus (womb).
Gender Selection
Gender selection is a fertility treatment that allows parents to choose the sex of the baby before conception. This can be accomplished by means of sophisticated techniques, such as PGS and PGD. The EuroCARE IVF centre in Cyprus also performs the procedure in order to avoid a range of genetic and chromosomal conditions.
PGS
Gender selection with preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) allows parents to have a baby of the desired gender while also preventing chromosomal abnormalities by identifying embryos with an incorrect amount of genetic material.
PGD
Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is used for the purpose of gender selection only when there is a gene defect that can lead to a disease in the child.
Cryopreservation
Cryopreservation is the process of freezing eggs, sperm or embryos to sub-zero temperatures for future use. When the eggs, sperm or embryos are needed, they are thawed and fertilised or used in a treatment cycle to attempt conception.
Your time in Cyprus
At the EuroCARE IVF center, we offer two options for your treatment — partial and full cycle. We want you to choose the option that is most comfortable and convenient for you.
If you are concerned about the length of your stay in Cyprus, you can go with a partial treatment cycle. Fertility testing and ovarian stimulation will be completed in your home country, and then you can proceed with the treatment in North Cyprus. Generally, 10 days in Cyprus gives you enough time.
If you wish to come to Cyprus for the full treatment, you would need to be here on day 2 or 3 of your period and stay for approximately 15 to 18 days. You can have the necessary tests carried out here and go on to have the treatment during this time. The longer you are able to physically spend time in Cyprus, the better it will be for our EuroCARE doctors to monitor your cycle.
