Sperm Donors ready to help IPs at IVF Clinic Cyprus

You’ve reached a certain stage in your life and you suddenly started to imagine what it would be like to become a parent. The pictures in your head became more and more defined and you started to envision yourself as a parent.

You might have asked yourself what you are really waiting for in regards to becoming a mother? The answer could be a boyfriend in a “the love of my life” kind of way — but this is not necessary to become a single mom by choice. For others, male factor infertility could be the reason behind their inability to get pregnant and sperm donation in Cyprus offers a renewed sense of hope.

Sperm Donors Ready to Help You

Sperm donation in North Cyprus is an excellent option for couples who are experiencing male infertility issues (such as varicoceles, low sperm count or low sperm motility), as well as single women looking to fulfil their dream of having a baby. Our clinic partners with Cryobank, a reputable sperm bank in Denmark, to provide you with an exceptional donor.

The fact that the child shares the genes of another man should not impact your feelings. Just as in any other family structure, you will raise the child with love and care, and your child will be yours regardless of the child being conceived with a little help.

The journey to becoming a parent may be one filled with challenges, hope, and, ultimately, endless joy. It is a privilege to be entrusted with such a life-changing experience, one that we treat with the utmost sensitivity and respect — and selecting a sperm donor is no exception.

How Do We Ensure Healthy Donor Sperm?

Working with a fertility clinic/sperm bank is the safest method to obtain sperm for fertility treatment. Donor sperm is kept in a frozen state to maintain its quality and safety. In addition, sperm is held for up to six months and screened for infections before it can be used for reproduction purposes.

Before being accepted into our donation program, potential donors undergo an extensive and lengthy screening process — with 99% of all applicants being unqualified and rejected.

  • Sperm analysis to evaluate sperm count, motility and morphology.
  • Genetic screening for genetic disorders and diseases such as cystic fibrosis.
  • Medical history.  Donors should be healthy and give no history of HIV, STIs or other infections.
  • Physical examination. Before acceptance (and every 6 months while remaining an active donor) donors should undergo a complete physical examination.
  • Laboratory testing including blood and hormone testing.

In addition, all donors at EuroCARE meet the following criteria:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 40
  • Have a normal weight (BMI between 18.5 and 24.9)
  • Be screened for medical conditions
  • Be free of serious medical and genetic conditions
  • Have a healthy diet and lifestyle
  • Be able and willing to commit to the sperm donation process

Choosing a Sperm Donor in Cyprus

The biggest advantage of choosing a sperm donor through a fertility clinic is to ensure that the sperm donor is healthy and disease-free. This allows you to focus on factors like:

  • Physical attributes
  • Education
  • Career
  • Personality
  • Ethnic/national background
  • Hobbies/interests

If you need a sperm donor, one will be provided by the team at EuroCARE IVF. We will gather information as to what features you are seeking, such as height, eye and hair color, weight, height, skin tone, occupation, education, and specific nationality.

Sperm Donation Process

An IVF treatment cycle using donor sperm is performed along with the same guidelines as a standard IVF cycle. Testing is required in order for us to prepare your treatment plan.

Day 1 of your menstrual cycle marks day 1 of the treatment process and the stimulation injections begin on day 2. A scan is required after 5 days of injections and you are due to fly to Cyprus on day 9 of the process. When your eggs are ready, they are collected by ultrasound-guided aspiration.

Sperm is thawed and prepared for fertilization using the ICSI method, thus resulting in your embryos. Your embryos are then monitored closely by our expert embryologist and transferred when they are at their best development stage (preferably at the blastocyst stage). Your EuroCARE IVF doctor will discuss full details of your embryo development with you on the day of transfer and you then decide together which to transfer.

We can also offer preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) if you wish to select the gender of your baby. To maximize your chances of success, the clinic provides additional services such as assisted hatching and embryo glue — at no extra cost.

Your Time in Cyprus

For sperm donation treatment it is best to allow for 10 days in Cyprus, which allows time for the 5-day blastocyst transfer.

If you wish to come to Cyprus for the full treatment, then you would need to be here on day 2 or 3 of your period and stay for approximately 15-18 days. You can have the necessary tests carried out here and go on to have the treatment at this time.

The longer you can spend in Cyprus, the better for the doctor to monitor you. Our patient coordinators are always available to answer your questions and concerns.
